At the sub-regional level, the bushmeat crisis is one of the topics discussed by the COMIFAC Sub-Working Group on Protected Areas and Wildlife. In addition to facilitating political dialogue, in 2014 COMIFAC coordinated the development of this sub-regional strategy, which should serve as a policy guidance document and reference framework for the harmonization of policies and legislation in sustainable use of wildlife by indigenous and local communities.
